Note(s)The Ballymun Towers scheme began in 1965 in response to Ireland's social housing needs. The first of seven 15-storey blocks was completed in 1966 and by its completion in 1969, the scheme comprised an additional nineteen 8-storey blocks, ten 4-storey blocks as well as 1,987 standard housing units. The lack of communal facilities led to the failure of the scheme and demolition began in 2004.
